The Greater Kansas City USNA Alumni Assoc. Metro Chapter  will host a four man scramble Service Academy Ring Knocker Golf at the new revamed Prairie Highlands Golf Club in Olathe, KS on Monday, September 30, 2024. (USAFA, USMA, USNA)

Prairie Highlands is just North of New Century Air Park off of Old 56 Highway and 151st Street in Olathe. We are inviting West Point and Air Force Academy alumni to join us too. Our objective is 40 golfers in this annual event.

West Point, Navy, and Air Force Academy alumni foursomes will compete against each other for the lowest average net score of all their service foursomes. The winner will keep the ‘local” Commander in KC Chiefs trophy (take it back from Air Force). The tournament is open to service academy alumni, parents club members, civilians, veterans, and active military. We will group branches together.

If you haven’t been to Prairie Highlands recently, it is different. There is white sand in all fairway and greenside bunders and the course is in excellent condition fairway to green. Great Life Golf management company took over Prairie Highlands a few years back and the course went private. A new pavilion and club house/grille are completed.

So please mark your calendar and save the date, Monday September 30. We anticiapte a noon shotgun start.  Cost will be $80 per player. Register and pay in advance here.

Additional Note: Navy League is also sponsoring the US Marine Corps (Presidents own) Band from Washington DC at the Kauffman Center downtown on Saturday, Octrober 12. The concert will be free to the public. And don’t forget Navy Week in Kansas City is coming in November around Veterans Day with some officers and crews of our namesake ships will be here. The Navy League/USNA Top Gun Challenge Golf Tournament has been moved to May 12, 2025 at Prairie Highlands. Mark your calendar now.

Thanks, and please consider participating. Go Navy!
